Paris: Palais Garnier (Opera House) Blog Post

When we went to the Palais Garnier today we were able to see beautiful art, statues, paintings, mirrors, chandeliers, and more to make a magical beautiful Opera House.  When we walked in you could tell the lighting was kept low, the entrance was somewhat plain.  Sort of a beginning to a beautiful building.  As we kept walking in we noticed a beautiful statue that showed the La Pythoe.  This statue was of a woman with a beautiful dress reaching out as she’s sitting.  I also noticed the beautiful architecture.  It was beautiful seeing the shaping and engraving of the stone, as well as they used color and painting to create a uniform, patterned type design in the ceilings.  You can see throughout the whole building that it is very uniform and patterned to create a pleasing sense to the eye so that the building makes sense to the viewer.   I think this opera house is significant because of the significance of the time period.  Like we lear...
