Madrid Archeology or Anthropology Museum: Your Choice Blog Post
During our visit to the Archeology museum we learned a lot about the Iberian time and how they settled Spain. I noticed a lot of different things inside the museum. Lots of Artifacts from times when Spain was less settled and was a bunch of different groups. I noticed a lot of pottery, head pieces, and things that contributed to their grave. I noticed a lot of gold, and stone artifacts. They did not have as much color as other things that we have been exploring however. I learned a lot about the way Spain came to be and how the different groups of people contributed to the culture of Spain.
I believe this group of people was so important for Spain because it helped contribute so much to what Spain is today. Learning about all the different things that make up this group of people has helped us to better understand Spain now. Some of these things include their art and the way they respect the dead. However, many of the things we can learn about them also helps us to understand that Spain took a lot of influence eventually from Romans. This was interesting because although the Iberians were a strong part of Spains culture it was also eventually overtaken and Romans culture has a stronger influence in Spain.
The Iberian time period and culture is so important for Spain as a cultural capital because they help us to better understand Spains history. What makes these different cities cultural capitals is the different influences and people that came before them. These people were important in creating Spain as it is today. Having different background's in art and language is something that you continue to see in Spain today. Although there is different languages and different art this helps us to see it continued to see this as a tradition continuing on in the modern world. This helps Spain to be a cultural capital.
Love your post Elease, you are so smart and knowledgeable! I also talked about how the different cultures that came to Spain helped to contribute to the cultural capital that it is now, especially the Iberians that showed up a lot in the museum. Lots of different traditions and art styles all came together here to form what we now consider Spanish culture and I think that is so cool!

ReplyDeleteElease, I like that you described some of the things we saw at the Madrid Archeology museum in regards to the Iberian time period. I think it is so interesting how Spain has such ancient history that dates back so far. The museum definitely contributes to Madrid being one of the cultural capitals of the world because it highlights the rich history from so many different cultures and people.
ReplyDeleteLove this post so much Elease! I love how you touch on the fact that a what makes a city a cultural capital is the influence and history that came before the cities. I love this thought! You can clearly see Spain's diverse history through its unique art, food, and culture. Again, such a good post!
ReplyDeleteCool blog post on the Archaeology museum Elease! I love how you focused on how important history is. I totally agree with you! Making sure people know the history behind a city is one of the best things a city can invest in. Madrid has clearly spent many hours and lots of funds into finding all of these artifacts and I think both the time and money is worth it. Knowing the history of a place provides it with such a deeper culture which is important when it comes to cultural capital.
